Major Consultancy Assignments
Since its inception, the Centre has expanded its scope and activities, offering consultancy services to the State Governments of all its seven constituent states and urban local bodies. Presently, the Centre is engaged in providing consultancy services for the preparation of City Development Plans, Detailed Project Reports, and assisting in project implementation for the comprehensive development of cities under the JNNURM scheme. It plays a pivotal role in various Urban Development initiatives such as AMRUT, Smart Cities Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), HRIDAY, and Housing for All. Additionally, the Centre provides consultancy services for the introduction of municipal reforms and the restructuring of Urban Administration in different states. RCUES, Lucknow has successfully executed numerous consultancy projects, with several ongoing assignments. Some notable consultancy services rendered by the Centre include:
  1. RCUES Lucknow has been selected as the Consultant for preparation of DPR and provide PMC services for Fecal Sludge Management scheme of Hussainabad, Bishrampur, Lohardaga, Garhwa, Chhattarpur, Khunti, Chatra and Latehar in Jharkhand.
  2. Under 15th Finance Commission Vide Letter No. JUIDCO/15thFC/DPR/2714/2021-2744 dated 16-08-2021, RCUES Lucknow was designated as the PMC for the State of Jharkhand for providing support to cities/ towns for Urban Water supply Projects, Urban Sanitation including Sewage, treatment and recycling Urban Solid Waste Management and recycling ambit air quality, storm water drainage and rain water harvesting, transportation and building services.
  3. Under Smart Cities Mission, RCUES Lucknow has vetted 12 DPRS of Smart Moradabad, 9 DPRs of Smart City Saharanpur, SCADA DPRS for Kanpur Smart City.
  4. RCUES Lucknow is preparing detailed project report on Solid Waste Management for Nagar Nigam Agra & Jhansi city in Uttar Pradesh.
  5. Vetting of DPR for multilevel car parking in Varanasi Cantonment Board.
  6. DPR preparation of 73 Gram Panchayat's in Uttar Pradesh.
  7. RCUES Lucknow is preparing DPR on Insitu Waste Water Treatment in drains through Bio-remediation and Phyto remediation in Barabanki, Ghaziabad, Jaunpur, Hargaon, Khairabad, Leharpur, Mehmudabad, Sidhauli & Bulandsheher
  8. Under the U.P. State Smart City initiative RCUES Lucknow has vetted ITMS DPR for Ayodhya City.
  9. RCUES Lucknow has prepared DPR for sewerage system for Sagaur Cantonment Board.
  10. RCUES Lucknow prepared the DPRs of Solid Waste Management of Lalitpur, Hardoi, Maunath, Shikohabad and Azamgarh.
  11. RCUES Lucknow as Project Development Management Consultants (PDMC) for development of Parks & open spaces in Uttar Pradesh under AMRUT mission.
  12. The Regional Centre for Urban & Environmental Studies, Lucknow vetted 16 Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) on SWM for Investment Plan and Technology for Primary Collection, Secondary Storage and Transportation to processing plant for 16 Urban Local Bodies of Ghaziabad Cluster.
  13. DPR of Integrated Solid Waste Management of 24 cities of Uttar Pradesh having Population more than 1 lakh
  14. In a first of its kind initiative the RCUES, Lucknow with support of Dept. of Urban development government of Uttar Pradesh has engaged 100 interns from various Engineering colleges across the state of Uttar Pradesh for preparation of DPRs for collection and transportation of Municipal Solid Waste in ULBs of UP.
  15. The Centre has been nominated as Technical Agency in the field of Solid Waste Management in Jharkhand state under which DPRs for 15 cities have been prepared.
  16. RCUES Lucknow has been designated as nodal coordinating agency for Solid Waste management in Lucknow city which includes door-to-door collection, transportation and treatment of waste.
  17. Regional Centre for Urban & Environmental Studies, Lucknow is the state nodal agency for coordinating the work of Enhancement of Property tax in 16 ULBs (Municipal Corporations) of Uttar Prdesh through GIS technology; for setting up Citizen Facilitation Centre (CFC) in Municipal Corporations of Uttar Pradesh; for supporting the state of Uttar Pradesh for establishing decentralised waste management system in 654 Urban Local bodies of Uttar Pradesh; for development of Transfer station for Solid Waste at Lucknow under SBM.
  18. The Centre was designated as the Nodal implementing agency for the UNDP sponsored project on Capacity Building for Urban Governance in U.P. and Uttarakhand.
  19. Prepared Fecal Sludge & Septage Management Bye-laws for Aligarh Municipal Corporation.
  20. Under Swaccha Bharat Mission RCUES Lucknow initiated a model project of mechanized cleaning of Public and Community toilets in Lucknow city.
  21. RCUES Lucknow developed SOP to standardize assessment of property tax in Lucknow Cantonment area.
  22. RCUES Lucknow as PDMC is developing projects for Water Bodies and Lakes rejuvenation under AMRUT for water stressed Urban Local Bodies in State of Uttar Pradesh also focusing on Rain Water harvesting in Public Parks and green spaces.
  23. Under Namami Ganage RCUES Lucknow has initiated development of parks and open spaces in 21 Ganga Town of Uttar Pradesh with special focus on Rain water harvesting/Bio comport, Physical Health and wellbeing and green space enhancement of green cover.
  24. RCUES Lucknow as PDMC has initiated Urban Improvement Scheme for Public Infrastructure upgradation and aesthetic tourist value in towns of Mirzapur cum Vidhyanchal, Chitrakoot dham Karvi, Ayodhaya Town, Cultural Value, Public Infrastructure Development, Tourist /Pilgrim Services.
  25. RCUES, Lucknow in collaboration with NEERI is developing In-situ treatment of Nallah by using Reneu Technology for Sewerage/Waste water treatment in Municipal Corporation Gorakhpur and Allahabad.
  26. RCUES Lucknow has conducted model research study of Purkazi in Muzaffarnagar for ITMS system integrated with public address system.
  27. RCUES Lucknow has conducted model research study of underground bins installed in Muzaffarnagar.
  28. RCUES is working as PMC for Solid Waste Management in 13 Urban Local Bodies of Jharkhand.
  29. The Regional Centre for Urban & Environmental Studies, Lucknow is working as technical agency for Asset management and Monitoring of Soil and water conservation Works at the Mili Watershed Level under RKVY Scheme by the Department of Agriculture, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
  30. The Centre was coordinating and monitoring the ‘VIHAAN’ Residential Schools run by Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Department of Labour Uttar Pradesh in 06 districts of U.P. viz Meerut, Ghaziabad, Bahraich, Agra, Firozabad and Bhadoi.
  31. Supporting the State of Jharkhand as Technical Partner for Project Development & Management of Solid Waste Management Projects.
  32. Supported the State of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Chandigarh UT for Preparation and update of SLIP AND SAAP under AMRUT.
  33. The Centre was nominated as the Third Party Evaluator by Dept. Of Urban Development, Govt. of U.P. under the Clean-Green Campaign launched by U.P. Chief Minister, for the selection of the Best Wards from Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra and Mathura.
  34. The Centre has been designated as the Technical Agency for Modernization of existing slaughter houses by Nagar Nigam of Varanasi and Jhansi.
  35. The Centre has been designated as the Technical Agency for carrying out feasibility Study of underground sewerage lines and effluent treatment plant in Cant area of Babina and Sagour Cantonment Board.
  36. The Centre has been designated as the PMC work for solid waste management, slaughterhouse waste management, restoration of water bodies, beautification of Nagar Bhawan, and beautification of Baramasia & Mansarovar Talab by Municipal Council of Giridih, Jharkhand.
  37. The Centre has entered into MoU with CSIR-NEERI and Queensland University of Technology, Australia to augment the technical capacity of the Centre.
  38. The Centre has initiated a Model proposal in the field of Bio-Energy with the Bhopal Municipal Corporation.
  39. Supported Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Govt. of India for Capacity Building of States under JNNURM.
  40. The Centre prepared the Functionality Report of Comprehensive Sewerage Scheme of Jammu and Srinagar sanctioned under JNNURM.
  41. The Centre implemented Training & Capacity Building and IEC Activities on Solid Waste Management at the towns of Ghaziabad, Bareilly and Rampur.
  42. The Centre has played a vital role in Capacity Development for Urban Governance under URIF Project.

Consultancy Assignments
The Centre since its inception has broadened its horizon and enhanced its activities by providing consultancy services to the State Governments of all its seven constituent states and urban local bodies.
